Easter Course 2010 - Sussex

Sunday 11th April - Friday 16th April 2010

The RSCM Millennium Youth Choir’s 2010 Easter Course will be held in West Sussex, singing a live broadcast of Choral Vespers on BBC Radio 3 from Arundel Cathedral (pictured above), taking part in a Royal School of Church Music ‘Meet the MYC’ event in Hurstpierpoint and giving a concert at Boxgrove Priory.

Course start and finish times

The course will begin at 4pm on Sunday 11th April at Windlesham House School (see directions below), giving plenty of time for people to travel after singing in their home churches where necessary. It will finish at 8.30pm on the evening of Friday 16th April after the concert in Boxgrove Priory.

Accommodation and course fee

Accommodation is in shared rooms at Windlesham House School, West Sussex. All meals are provided.

The course fee is £320. Accommodation for the night of Friday 16th April can be booked at a cost of £18.

Bursaries

A limited number of bursaries are available to people who would otherwise not be able to afford the full course fee. Please download the bursary form, complete it with details of two referees and send to the address on the form as soon as possible.


Getting to Windlesham House School near Washington, West Sussex, RH20 9AY

From Central and South West London

Take the A3 south out of London. At the Hook underpasson the Kingston by-pass follow the brown signs to Chessington World of Adventures and on to the A243 signposted to Leatherhead and Dorking. Continue towards Leatherhead and the junction with the A24. Follow the A24 south past Dorking towards Worthing. Once at the Washington roundabout (junction with the A283) continue on the A24 towards Worthing and then follow 'Directions from the A24' below.

From North West London and the M25

Join the M25 where convenient, travel anti-clockwise until junction 9. Follow the signs to the A24 south, past Dorking and towards Worthing. Once at the Washington roundabout (junction with the A283) contine on the A24 towards Worthing and then follow 'Directions from the A24' below.

From East London and the M25

Join the M25 where convenient, travel clockwise until junction 7. Take the left hand fork on hte M23 towards Brighton. Leave the M23 at junction 11 towards Pease Pottage and Horsham. Follow the A264 towards Horsham until it joins the A24 South towards Wothing. Once at the Washington roundabout (junction with the A283) contine on the A24 towards Worthing and then follow 'Directions from the A24' below.

From Brighton

Take the A27 west towards Worthin. Turn on to the A283 towards Steyning and Horsham. Turn south onto the A24 at the Washington roundabout and follow 'Directions from the A24' below.

Directions from the A24

From the A24 turn off at the exit by the bridge signposted Windlesham House School. Park at the front of the school building and look for signs to the Millennium Youth Choir course.

Arriving by train

The recommended station is Worthing, which is slightly closer and has more taxis than Pulborough. If you are travelling by train please let us know and we will do our best to put you in touch with other people to share a taxi with.

Getting home

The course will finish in Boxgrove after the concert on Friday evening, which will conclude by 8.30pm. If you will need accommodation on Friday night, this can be provided at the school at a cost of £18. The nearest railway station to Boxgrove is in Chichester.
